DENTAL IMPLANTS

Mississippi Dental Center offers comprehensive dental implant services for patients seeking to restore their oral health.

With advanced implant technology and materials, patients can conveniently undergo implant surgery and restoration placement at our offices, achieving long-lasting oral health and confidence. Dental implants consist of a titanium post, abutment, and prosthetic tooth, with advanced imaging conducted before surgery to determine the best location for the posts. We use biocompatible materials to ensure successful fusion with the jawbone and offers implant-supported prosthetics that provide added stimulation and stability for the smile.

All-on-4 and All-on-6 treatments are also available for full-arch restoration, with each step of the implant treatment performed in-office for closer monitoring and convenience.

FAQ

What Are Dental Implants?
A dental implant consists of three parts: a titanium post, an abutment, and a prosthetic tooth. Prior to implant surgery, we will conduct advanced imaging to determine the best location for your titanium posts. We will then insert the posts through an opening in your gums. Our doctors use biocompatible materials from Nobel Biocare® to ensure your implants successfully fuse with your jawbone in a process called osseointegration.

Over the course of three to six months, the posts become part of your jaw and create an artificial root. This foundation will give your jawbone the vital stimulation it lacked due to missing teeth. Once your dental implants have fully healed, we will place an anchor called an abutment on top of the posts. You can then receive your lifelike, durable crown, bridge, or denture. We will help you choose which prosthetic option is best to complete your dental implant treatment.

In contrast to traditional restorations, implant-supported prosthetics provide added stimulation and stability for your smile. We also offer All-on-4® and All-on-6 treatments to provide full-arch restoration on fewer, strategically angled implants. Each step of your dental implant treatment can be performed in our office, allowing us to monitor your progress more closely and save you office visits to multiple facilities.

Are You a Good Candidate for Implants?
In order to receive dental implants, you must be healthy enough to undergo oral surgery. If you have any cavities or badly damaged teeth that require extraction, they will need to be treated prior to implant surgery. If you are a smoker, we recommend that you quit smoking prior to your procedure and throughout the healing process.

If you are diabetic, you should discuss your condition with your doctor. Although patients with controlled diabetes may be able to enjoy the same dental implant benefits as patients without the condition, patients with uncontrolled diabetes can face a slower healing process.

Why Choose Our Practice for Implants?
Our doctors use advanced imaging as well as a cone beam scanner to generate highly-detailed images of your treatment area. This technology allows them to plan and place the implants. To help you feel as comfortable as possible during your surgery, we offer sedation. Depending on the extent of your procedure and your specific concerns, we can provide oral consciousness or nitrous oxide sedation. For more complex procedures, we can arrange for surgery under general anesthesia or IV sedation to be completed at an off-site location.
