What to Expect During Dental Bridge Treatment
Exam and Planning
We start with an exam at one of our offices in the Jackson area, and any needed images to evaluate the gap, your bite, and the health of nearby teeth and gums. Then we’ll confirm whether a traditional or implant-supported bridge is the best option. Finally, we will outline your timeline, costs, and what to expect.
Preparing Teeth for a Traditional Bridge
If a traditional bridge is the right fit, we gently reshape the teeth on either side of the space so they can support crowns. We’ll take impressions of your dental arch and select a shade that blends naturally with your smile.
Creating Your Custom Bridge
Your bridge is crafted to match the look of your natural teeth. We focus on the details that matter most, including bite balance, comfort, and a natural appearance, so your bridge feels stable when you chew and speak.
Final Placement and Bite Check
We may be able to design and place your bridge in a single appointment using CEREC® technology. Other cases must be sent to a dental lab. Once your bridge is complete, we'll make sure it feels comfortable before cementing the restoration in place. You’ll also get care instructions to help protect your bridge long term.
If You Choose Implant Support
For an implant-supported bridge, the first step is implant placement, followed by healing time. Once the jawbone has healed, we'll place abutments. Once the gums have healed around the abutments, we'll design and attach your custom bridge.

How Long Does a Dental Bridge Last?
Dental bridges are designed to be a durable, long-term solution for missing teeth. How long yours lasts depends on the strength of the supporting teeth or implants, your bite, and daily care.
Small habits make a big difference. Brush twice a day, clean around and under the bridge once a day, and keep up with routine exams and cleanings. If you grind or clench your teeth, a nightguard may help reduce stress on your restoration.
During your checkups at our offices serving Jackson and Brandon, MS, we’ll provide tips on caring for your bridge and implants, so they last as long as possible.
Financing Your Dental Bridge
We never want cost to be the reason you delay restoring your smile. If your bridge is recommended to improve function and oral health, your dental insurance may cover part of your treatment. Our team can review your benefits, explain your estimated out-of-pocket cost, and help with claims when appropriate.
For added flexibility, we accept major credit cards and offer financing through CareCredit®, which many patients use to break treatment into manageable monthly payments. You can discuss bridge financing at any Mississippi Dental Center location in Jackson, Brandon, Pelahatchie, or Raymond, MS.
