DENTAL CROWNS

Repair Missing or Damaged Teeth with a Customizable Dental Crown
Dental crowns are one of the most commonly performed dental services. In fact, according to the American College of Prosthodontists, approximately 2.3 million implant-supported crowns are made annually. At Mississippi Dental Center our doctors can customize your dental crown to suit your needs. A traditional crown can help restore the functional and cosmetic aspects of your smile, while an implant-supported crown offers superior benefits for patients with missing teeth. Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to create same-day crowns for patients who require expedited treatment.

We will work with your budget and needs to create a traditional crown, same-day crown, or implant-supported crown that benefits your smile for
years to come.

FAQ

Do I Need a Crown?

Dental crowns are an extremely versatile treatment option which our doctors can customize to treat a wide variety of oral health issues, including:

A structurally weak tooth
Severe decay
A tooth treated with root canal therapy
Excessively worn teeth affected by bruxism
Single-tooth replacement with a dental implant

Crowns are unique because they can not only restore a defective tooth, but can also address cosmetic issues with incredibly lifelike results. A crown can help conceal:

Severe discoloration or intrinsic stains
Disproportionately large or small teeth
Chips and cracks

Depending on your budget and overall goals, we can craft your crowns from:

All-porcelain
IPS e.max®
Zirconia
Metal

Depending on factors such as the location of your affected tooth, you may be a better candidate for certain materials over others. If you have one, two, or three missing teeth in a row, you might also consider a dental bridge.

What to Expect during Treatment
When placing a traditional crown, one of our doctors will first resize your existing tooth structure to fit the new restoration. We will then take impressions of your smile. These impressions will be used to craft your custom crown. We provide both same-day and lab-crafted crowns to suit your unique needs.

If your crown is made in the lab, we may place a temporary restoration to protect your prepared tooth while you wait. Once your crown is ready for placement, your doctor can cement the restoration in place with a special dental adhesive.

Crowns for Single-Tooth Replacement
Patients with a single missing tooth can restore symmetry and health to their smiles with an implant-supported dental crown. Before receiving your crown, you will first need to undergo implant placement from Dr. Strange.

Once you are fully healed from dental implant surgery, one of our doctors can create a custom crown and securely attach it to your dental implant. Implant-supported crowns can help prevent jawbone atrophy, as well as changes in your facial structure, by providing an important connection between your jaw and teeth.

CEREC® Same-Day Crowns
Our office is also equipped with a chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics, or CEREC unit. This computer-aided design and manufacturing tool allows us to design, fabricate, and place a custom dental crown on the same day of your appointment.

Financing Your Treatment
If your crown is required for medical reasons, it may be partially or fully covered by your insurance. Our office accepts most types of insurance and can help you file the appropriate paperwork. We also accept credit cards and CareCredit®, which offers low-interest flexible financing for patients.

Restore Your Smile
Do not let cost get in the way of attaining the healthy, radiant smile you have always wanted. Our office can make special arrangements for patients who can benefit from treatment. We will work with your budget and needs to create a traditional crown, same-day crown, or implant-supported crown that benefits your smile for years to come.
